CALIFORNIA SALES TRIP BEGINS

From now until July 27, 2007 the founders of Ruksax International Inc, Meg and Corbin Thomander, are embarking on a 20-day sales trip throughout the state of California. They plan to focus their sales efforts in the three major metropolitan cities and the surrounding areas of San Francisco, Los Angeles, and San Diego. As a result of their efforts, they hope to get their products into a few retail stores. Meg explains, “We don’t exactly have any sales reps yet, so we are doing all of the foot work ourselves. We are super happy to be a husband and wife partnership, because this way we can save a bunch of money sleeping in the car and sharing everything. I think that we are going to have a lot of fun too.” Look for Ruksax products in retail stores soon.

PRODUCTION ORDER ARRIVED FROM CHINA

Today, the Ruksax event of the day was the arrival of over 2,000 handbags from China. The shipment came by way of an international airline carrier into San Francisco International Airport. The Ruksax founders headed up the effort of bringing the goods through customs and reported tiredly, “We left for the airport at 7:00 in the morning and did not gain possession of the product until 9:00 that night. The series of forms, lines, and driving was endless.” They admitted that a lot of headache could have been avoided if they had a hired a customs broker, however, they were also very enthused about having figured out the process themselves. Ruksax will be running warehousing/shipping operations out of two locations, one in Hauula, Hawaii and the other in Palo Alto, California. As a result of the shipment, Ruksax is pleased to announce that starting today, all vinyl handbags are currently in stock and ready to ship.

FIRST 3 BAGS SOLD!

Ruksax sold 3 bags on opening day! It may not sound like a lot, but the founders are excited to be bringing in their first sign of actual revenue. The bags were sold for $20 a piece to a couple of friends that were stoked on the founder’s business. They loved the products so much that they just had to have them.

RUKSAX OPENS FOR BUSINESS

Rukax International Inc, creator of the casual handbag, opens for its first day of business on New Years Day, 2007! Ruksax will incorporate in Hawaii this month as a small business with high hopes for the New Year. For the past few months the founders of Ruksax International Inc., Meg (age 22) and Corbin Thomander (age 28), have been busily prototyping their new and unique line of vinyl handbags. What makes their bags so unique, you ask? Well, I posed this question to Corbin, and he responded, “It’s simple really, it’s all about the vinyl. Our bags are made of clear plastic-like vinyl, which allows our one-of-a-kind graphic artwork to be displayed. The artwork is printed out on paper and sewn in between two sheets of vinyl and creates a totally unique appearance.” While their bags have potential for national and international appeal, Ruksax plans to start small by making them by hand and selling them to friends by word of mouth. By the end of 2007, the founders plan to have launched an e-commerce website, outsourced production overseas, and got into a few retail stores.
